I had some beautiful Geranium plants this year in the garden and have decided to try and winter them. We pulled all the plants out, cleaned the dirt off the roots and have hung them all upside down in the basement of our house (Which is a cooler place as we are in an old farm house). Lets hope this works!! :)
We have pulled all of our herb plants that wont come back next year and they area all hanging as well. We plant citronella plants around the kennel every year to keep the bugs away so I am trying to winter those as well. That with the help of some petunias and rosemary plants have actually aloud or dogs to enjoy being outside without mosquitos and black flys bothering them. Its a great natural way to keep those pests away from your home.
All of our fall decorations have been put away straw bales, corn stalks, gords and indian corn have been thrown out. We are now getting ready to start Christmas Decorating as soon as halloween is over..... is that to soon?? haha
The dogs love the weather, running and playing in the field. They have all found a pile of horse manure too! I have no idea what the attraction is there, but they do like it! They even enjoyed the snow we had yesterday (see picture below).
Phil and I have already started planning our next years garden lay out (Veggie) and will post pictures in the Spring. I cannot wait to start that!
